Xiaomi Redmi Note 5: What to expect from Xiaomi’s upcoming budget smartphone
If you are planning to buy redmi note 5 so keep reading this article.
In a few weeks from now, Xiaomi is expected to unveil the successor to its Redmi Note 4, currently the highest selling smartphone in the Indian market. The Redmi Note 5 was certified by TENAA in China late last month, giving us a clear look at its design as well as confirming most of its key specifications. If you’re not in a hurry to get yourself a new smartphone, we do think it makes sense to wait for the Redmi Note 5. Here’s a summary of what we know about the upcoming smartphone:
Bigger display with an 18:9 aspect ratio
The Redmi Note 5 is expected to feature a 5.99-inch 1080 x 2160 Full HD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. As can be seen in the image above, the bezels around the display are much slimmer than previous Redmi Note series devices, giving it a more modern appearance.
Dual rear cameras
The Redmi Note 5 will be a significant upgrade over the Redmi Note 4 in the camera department as well. Instead of a single 13MP rear camera, the upcoming smartphone will feature a dual-camera setup with a 16MP primary sensor and a 5MP secondary sensor. The selfie camera will offer 5MP resolution, identical to the Redmi Note 4.
More powerful internals
Under the hood, Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is expected to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 636 processor. The octa-core chipset uses eight Kryo 260 cores clocked at up to 1.8 GHz, along with an Adreno 509 GPU. As for memory, the smartphone is expected to be available in three configurations – 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM, 4GB RAM + 32GB ROM, and 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM.
Excellent battery life
The TENAA listing revealed the Redmi Note 5 comes with a 4000mAh battery, 100mAh smaller than the current Redmi Note 4. However, we don’t expect any significant impact on battery life.
When will the Redmi Note 5 launch in India?
Since the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 has been a huge success in India, we expect the Redmi Note 5 to land in India soon after its official unveiling. That means you can expect the smartphone to be launched here before the end of the year.
